Dill and Shallot Lemony Yogurt Dip for the perfect side to chips! Light, lemony, and packed with dill and shallot, this dip won’t weigh you down.
I think there might be a sporting event this weekend? A large scale event perhaps? I don’t know a ton about football, I’m a soccer (aka European Football) gal. What I do know is that an event, like the Super Bowl, is a perfect excuse to gather with family and friends to … eat. And cheer on a football team, but primarily eat 😉 This Dill and Shallot Lemony Yogurt Dip is filled with dill, shallot, and lemon juice for a light but flavourful punch. I’ve been making this dip for a few years, unsure where it originated from, but still pleased to serve it at events and parties as a fresh take on dip.
We also use this dip with veggies and bread sticks, because when you have kids, breadsticks are a must. I don’t know when they fell out of style, but my kids love them and keeps them away from the chips a bit more at parties. My kids love this dip. They often have it with cracker as a healthier option for snack.
This dip also makes me think of Spring; it’s just around the corner with days already getting longer. I can’t wait! Dill and lemon really perk this dip up so that you don’t really notice it’s base is yogurt. If you’re totally against the idea of yogurt, sour cream will work. I’m more partial to yogurt over sour cream so that’s why we use it.
We love this dip turned sauce with couscous or roasted broccoli as well. It makes dinner much more pleasant when there’s a healthy sauce my kids love to use as a dip for veggies or to mix in with a grain.
