These Mini Egg Easter Rice Krispie Treats are the easiest Easter treats! 4 ingredients and 20 minutes is all it takes to whip up a batch these of fun and festive Easter treats.

It’s that time of year where my shopping cart has to avoid all the aisles with Easter candies in them. Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs, or even the Caramilk Eggs … I’ve resisted temptation this year besides these outstanding Easter Rice Krispie Treats.
They have only 4 ingredients and are so quick to make that you’re likely to make them for everything Easter related from potlucks to school parties.

Mini Eggs are one of my ultimate indulgences, and yet somehow they get tastier in these squares. Kids and adults will go bananas for them as they are highly addictive and challenging to resist.

I topped mine with some fancy sprinkles which my girls adored, but is not necessary. It was solely for looks that felt festive and fun.
The main flavour comes from the soft marshmallow, crispy rice cereal and crunchy chocolatey Mini Eggs. The texture is so satisfying and delicious.

I like that this recipe uses up a bunch of Mini Eggs. There’s nothing worse than having copious amounts of holiday treats around.
We’re still working on Christmas chocolate in this house – I finally gave up and froze it for cookies. A decision my future self will thank me for I’m sure.

Maybe I should add some big chocolate pieces to more Rice Krispie Squares since my kiddos are so into them (I think because they don’t get treats like these very often).

We’re loading up on the family activities this Easter. A big hunt in the yard with lots of friends and neighbours as well as a big “family” dinner to include any friends who might not have family in town.
I did grab some smaller LEGO to gift my kids and as I decided to cut back on the amount of treats they’re getting. It’s mostly ending up in my belly which is equally good and bad! 😉
What are your traditional Easter plans? Do you have any?

Other festive and fun Easter Treats:

These Mini Egg Easter Rice Krispie Treats are the easiest Easter treats! 4 ingredients and 20 minutes is all it takes to whip up a batch these of fun and festive treats.
- 300 grams mini marshmallows 1 bag
- 2 tbsp coconut oil or unsalted butter
- 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 2 cups Cadbury Mini Eggs
-
Grease and line a 9″ x 13″ pan with parchment paper.
-
Using a double boil method* place marshmallows and coconut oil (or butter) in a large heat proof bowl with water simmering over medium low heat.
-
Once melted add Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well blended. Add Mini Eggs and mix again. Add to prepared pan and press down firmly to flatten ( I find spraying the bottom of a 1 cup measuring tool is the easiest way to flatten rice krispies into the pan).
-
Allow to set for 60 minutes (or more) and cut into desired sized squares.
* double boil method means that a heatproof bowl sets on top of a pan with 1-2″ of simmering water (the bowl never touches the water).
Enjoy! xo

OMG!! I can’t wait to try these! Great idea!
Thank you! I hope you love them 🙂
How would I store these and for how long if I make them ahead for Easter?
I would say they keep that “fresh” taste for 3 to 5 days if wrapped tightly or kept in an airtight container that isn’t being opened at all. The texture does change over time as the rice cereal becomes less crisp. For bet results I’d eat within a couple of days, but that’s just a personal preference.
Try this recipe using popcorn instead of rice crispy or blend the two! Sweet and salty chocolate treat!
Hi Karen, interesting idea! Did you use this recipe to make that treat?

Loving these rice krispie treats. They’re so cute and easy to make!
Such a quick and fun recipe to make! The kids loved them!
How do you prevent the mini eggs from breaking and melting?
You can either pop the mini eggs into the fridge for a few hours to chill them or I find if I give the hot marshmallow mixture a few stirs before adding the mini eggs it’s usually fine.
Wow! These Mini Egg Easter Rice Krispie Treats look amazingly delicious! Kids will definitely love this perfect treat for this Easter day festivity or any occasion I may say! Loved it!

Like most treats these are best eaten in the first couple of days but can last in an airtight container for up to 5-7 days.
This would make a great easter sunday treat, the color, flavors, and textures will be the eye turner for the kiddos! But watch out they may go hyper on this one LOL!
I stumbled upon this recipe while looking for something special to make with my kids for the holiday, and I’m so glad I did! We had a great time making them together, and they turn out perfectly sweet and chewy, with just the right amount of crunch from the Rice Krispies
Agreed! They’re great for Easter.
