This savoury Honey Goat’s Cheese Ball recipe is 4 simple ingredients that come together to make a festive appetizer. It can also be made in advance freeing up much needed time during the social holiday season.

While I love hosting and everything that comes along with it, I do get a tad stressed out with the food preparations. I am a Food Blogger so while I try to manage expectations, it’s challenging to relax my own sometimes.

As the holiday season (rapidly!) approaches I’m trying to lean on more reasonable recipes that meet all my basic qualifications for being good:

  • tastes freaking amazing
  • low ingredient list (4 here!)
  • quick and easy to make
  • bonus points for make ahead (yes this Honey Cheese Ball Recipe is!)

What is a cheese ball made out of?

This cheese ball recipe is all about the Goat’s Cheese and I don’t confuse the flavours by adding any other cheese. I stay the course of using all Goat’s Cheese as its flavour compliments the honey SO well.

More traditional cheese ball recipe would include a few different types of cheese and almost always includes cream cheese.

How long will a cheese ball last in the fridge?

This is the best part ….. 2 weeks!! I swear, no party shall pass through this house again without a cheese ball appearance.

A "naked" Goat's cheese ball on a ceramic plate with bright red marinated peppers and large green olives.

Substitution / Variations:

  • Leave the fresh rosemary and red pepper flakes off for a “naked” look
  • Add the rosemary and red pepper flakes to the interior of the cheese
  • Roll into smaller bite-sized balls for a tower or add to a cheeseboard

What are the best type of crackers for a cheese ball?

I could go on all day about having weak crackers or chips for certain dips, but I won’t. You really want a thicker cracker here to allow for people to dig the cracker into the ball and pull the cheese away.
