This watermelon smoothie is so simple, bright, and refreshing. It’s all summery things blended together for a refreshing and delicious drink.

Also, if tequila or gin were added it may be your new favourite cocktail.

I’d recommend chilling all your ingredients before blending. I don’t use ice in my smoothies as I find it waters them down so I placed my chopped watermelon in the freezer for a few minutes before blending.

This smoothie turns into more of a juice due to the high water content of watermelon, but we all loved it. It’s so refreshing and satisfying on a hot day.

What fruit goes well with watermelon in a smoothie?

Lime and mint are both great flavours to pair with watermelon in a smoothie, as shown in this recipe.

Strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries are nice for added fruit and more summer vibes.

Coconut milk, honey, and cucumber all go well with watermelon and could be used in a refreshing smoothie.

For a colder experience, try freezing the cubed watermelon before blending. The frozen watermelon will a daiquiri like feel to the smoothie … we all need a little bit more tropics and fun if you ask me 😉

I tend to make this smoothie when we’ve gorged on a large watermelon for days and a touch remains but we’re all kind of over it. It extends the life of the watermelon, especially with the lime and mint added in as they change the flavour profile to something with a bit more jazz to it.
