Ingredients

  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4-1 cup chopped candy bars, about 8-12 small candy packages OR chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.

  2. Melt butter in a 10″ (oven-proof) skillet over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in both sugars and vanilla. Allow to cool for 5 minutes (cooling is essential so it doesn’t scramble the egg and melt the chocolate bars too much).

  3. Stir in egg. Add flour, baking soda, and salt, and stir until combined. Quickly stir in candy bar and press down into a somewhat even level.

  4. Place in oven and bake for 20-22 minutes.

  5. Carefully remove and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve (with ice cream if desired).
