Having date night at home makes the mundane special. Amongst work, cleaning, and general tiredness that comes with everyday life, this sectioned off time for us becomes special. We also want those special evenings without the added costs of a baby-sitter.
I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be presenting a workshop on Ashley Rodriguez’s cookbook “Date Night In”.
I’m holding it in collaboration with some fantastic women and in a beautiful space. The Pleasant Shop (a shop for kids and their grown ups) in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver is going to be our home for two evenings of sampling recipes from the cookbook and discussing our experiences with date nights and with cooking. The wonderful duo (Carina and Bree) over at Peaks and Harbours is coordinating and co-hosting with us as well.
Having two babies that I’m at home with day in and day out, Date Night In resonates with me. The time spent with my husband after my toddler twin girls are in bed is important. We chat, laugh, and make some pretty major life decisions in those precious couple of hours we get on our own. Dealing with life’s ups and downs over delicious food always makes things a little bit better and brings us closer.

The workshop is going to be held on Thursday April 30 and Thursday May 21. From 7-8:30pm both evenings. Email, call, or head into The Pleasant Shop to secure your spot. Spaces are limited. Your ticket price includes the cookbook.
Regardless of your cooking level I encourage you to come join us and your community in with the intent of nourishing your relationship, joining some good company, and of course, enjoying food.
Hope to see you there!
